Shopify introduces AI Sidekick chatbot in early access for merchants

Shopify's summer update is here, and it's packed with exciting AI features designed to empower merchants! The star of the show is Sidekick, their new AI assistant.
Remember all those times you wished for a helping hand with store tasks? Sidekick is here, this AI chatbot can assist you with creating discount codes, generating insightful reports, and even sparking blog post ideas. It's still under development, but it has the potential to be a game-changer for managing your online store.Currently, Sidekick is available in early access for merchants with English stores in North America. Don't worry if you can't access it yet – you can join the waitlist and be among the first to experience it in other languages and regions soon.
Shopify's AI advancements go beyond Sidekick. Their AI-powered product categorization automatically suggests suitable categories for your products, saving you precious time setting up listings. No more struggling to find the perfect category – AI takes care of it.
Another helpful feature suggests replies to customer chats within Shopify Inbox. These are currently just suggestions, allowing you to personalize them before sending. However, Shopify is exploring the possibility of AI-powered chatbots handling customer interactions directly in the future.

Remember the AI image generator launched in January? Now integrated with Shopify's mobile apps, you can create high-quality product images on the go. Plus, merchants can utilize it in more areas within the Shopify admin panel. The numbers speak for themselves – over 1 million AI-generated images have been created by Shopify merchants in just six months.
