Re-architecting Physical Therapy Tracking App

Curovate is a mobile app that helps patients recover from ACL, knee, and hip surgeries by measuring their range of motion using just a smartphone. Tracking progress through physical therapy exercises, it gives patients a clear picture of how their recovery is going.
The Challenge
Curovate had the right idea. Helping people recover from surgery at home, on their own schedule, with a tool that fit in their pocket. But the app they had wasn't ready for that responsibility. It was heavily hardcoded and too rigid to grow with the business, let alone handle the needs of real patients going through recovery.
What We Did
Band of Coders re-architected the app from the ground up, building a production-quality platform centered around physical therapy and patient progress tracking. The new system was flexible enough to support the full range of exercises patients work through during recovery, and robust enough to scale as Curovate's user base grew. The result was an app that could actually deliver on Curovate's promise: giving patients recovering from ACL injuries, knee replacements, and hip surgeries a reliable companion through every step of their recovery.

I have worked with Band of Coders since June 2019. As the CEO and non-technical founder of a start-up (Curovate) I needed a company that could take full responsibility for our entire mobile app code base. I have found Band of Coders to be very professional, detail-oriented, and consistent in their high quality of software output.
